IT was a bad day at the astro when Blossomfield Ladies visited a cold and wet Tamworth. The home side stormed out of the blocks scoring four in the first 15 minutes.

Bloss finally got themselves organised with Anna Wellings getting a goal back but were caught out twice on the break. At 6-1 down Blossomfield didn’t give in and a move started by Lou Protty was finished by her when she despatched the ball into the back of the net.

However, no sooner had Bloss scored than Tamworth broke again to make it 7-2.

Meanwhile in the Ladies Masters fixture Blossomfield ran out 5-1 winners away at Manchester side Timperley to sweep into the quarter finals of the national plate.

Player of the match was awarded to Jenny Parkes. Bloss now face King’s Lynn hockey club for a place in the semi final.
