Solihull Municipal A team consolidated their push towards retaining their Birmingham bowls league title with a hard earned win against Erdington Court A at home, when Roger Reade, Tony Burdett, Francis Fletcher and Dave Greaves narrowly lost 13 -15.

The other rink comprising Nigel Walker, Chris Holmes, Keith Miller and Malcolm Evans led 18 -16 going in to the final end of the game with the match score tied 31 apiece.

The Muni men built an excellent position to hold three shots and looking comfortable to seal the win.

The opposing skip narrowly failed with his first attempt prompting the Muni skip to play a positional bowl to prevent the opposition scoring.

The last wood was played brilliantly by Erdington only to see the jack nestle right up against the Muni bowl which secured the match by 32 to 31 netting 4 points for the home team.
