TALENTED Colleen Mapp has been selected at the British Colleges hockey trials.
The 16-year-old is juggling her studies with a passion for hockey and attended trials in Southampton at the start of November.
Having impressed judges there, she has been asked to attend a further selection process in Cannock next month.
“I’ve been selected from this set of trials, which I’m really excited about,” said Colleen. “I’m looking forward to going to a further selection process in Cannock next month.
“I got into hockey because my father plays and I love it. I’m hoping I can take it as far as possible and represent not only the West Midlands but also the British Colleges team.”
Having already played for Birmingham and the West Midlands, Colleen clearly has a bright future ahead of her in hockey, but she’s keeping her head in her books for the time being.
She is currently studying Chemistry, English Language and Literature, Modern History and Chemistry at The Sixth Form College, Solihull and is hoping to study Law at university.
