Whitchurch 91 a/o
MOSELEY got their campaign to bounce straight back to Birmingham & District premier league underway with a convincing win away at Whitchurch.
The Streetsbrook Road side, who lost Warwickshire fast bowler Ricardo Gordon to a stress fracture to his back even before the season started then crashed against Bromsgrove last week, turned on the style against the Shropshire side.
Having won the toss and put Whitchurch into bat, Fred Ebureh took six for 30, Tom Watts three for 27 and 18-year-old prospect Jagtar Dulai one for 19 as the Moseley attack ripped into the batting order dismissing them for 91 off 35.3 overs.
In reply, Moseley made short work of the home attack rattling up the required runs in just 11.4 overs.
Delighted skipper Abdul Hafeez said: “It was a fantastic result. Obviously we were disappointed from the week before against Bromsgrove but the players put that behind them.
“However the guys went out with the bat and were positive and that’s what we needed.”
Moseley play Old Hill this Saturday at their Streetsbrook Road HQ.
