Complex captain Mike is living the Spanish dream

Mike Fisher left leafy Naseby Road behind to live the dream in the Costa del Sol.

And now four years on the 67-year-old has been named the captain of the biggest golf complex in Spain - La Cala Resort.

After retiring as Chief Executive of Grimmitt Holdings Ltd, a manufacture storage equipment company in Birmingham, Mike and his wife Pearl decided on a move to Malaga.

The pair rapidly took to the popular sport and now Mike proudly holds the prestigious chairman position after taking over the reigns last month.

“I fell in love with La Cala resort,” he said.

“It has great views and brilliant golfing facilities.”

The resort is an exclusive residential and recreational estate located between Marbella and Fuengirola and plays host to 60 holes of golf.

It is also the location of the only David Leadbetter Golf Academy in the country and has staged a number of important competitions during the last few years.

In November, 2008 it was voted best golf resort in Andalucía by the publication Andalucía Golf.
