LIAM Daly has apologised for his sending off in the 3-1 defeat against Telford United on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old defender was given his marching orders after a bad tackle on former Birmingham City Academy team-mate Lee Vaughan.
Moors were a goal down but by no means out of the game when Daly retaliated to an apparent foul minutes earlier that was missed by the referee.
“It was unprofessional and I let the team and manager down,” he said.
“We were on top and could have gone on to win the game but I was reckless and I regret going in the way I did.
“I’ve spoken to the lad on the phone and apologised to him.
“He knows that there was nothing malicous in the tackle.
“I’m just sorry that I let the lads down.”
Manager Bob Faulkner said he will deal with the incident individually.
Daly’s three-game suspension kicks in after the Fleetwood Town trip tomorrow afternoon.
