SLEEPY Sils were caught napping early on and soon found themselves 13-0 down.

Two smartly taken Droitwich tries plus a penalty put Sils on the backfoot before they finally woke up and started to string some quick ball together. After going close, Lee Window Jones finally crossed Droitwich’s line and Steve Hawkins converted.

Droitwich hit back with another converted try to lead 20-7 at half time.

The second half proved a case of what might have been as Stu Tirebuck burst over Droitwich’s line while the pack produced a pushover try which Hawkins improved upon.

However they were cancelled out by two more Droitwich scores, the latter arriving with just five minutes remaining.

Lessons have to be learnt quickly as Sils look to make amends when they take on Stoke on a cup contest this weekend.
