SOLIHULL Barons’ rising star Jacob Smith has been selected for the England U14s ice hockey team.
Thirteen-year-old Jacob went through numerous trials and vigorous training over the last six months to get selected.
The England squad will travel to two international tournaments next year; one four-day tournament in Budapest, leaving on Tuesday, and then onto Prague in April.
Ainsley Smith, Solihull Barons junior section head coach, said: “Jacob has played ice hockey for Solihull for six years, from not even being able to skate.
“His continued effort and determination has put him in the proud position that he is to play for his country.”
