OLIVER Stuart-Smith was in scintillating form for Berkswell and Balsall Common by cracking home all four goals in their 4-1 success against Atherstone in their opening East Midlands Two hockey contest.
Berkswell’s second string also started in style with a 5-0 triumph at Barlastone where Matt Roebuck and Michael Lister converted twice with Robby Wells also on target.
The Thirds also enjoyed a fantastic start winning 7-3 at Coventry Sikh Union where Dave Perry plundered a hat-trick. Chris Gallon also grabbed a couple of goals with Jake Kocknowicz and Matt Wooden on target as well.
Berkswell’s ladies battled their way to a 2-2 draw at Rugby and East Warwickshire where Sarah Augustin and Annie Hart hit home.
The ladies are set to host Coventry and North Warwicks this weekend while the Men’s 1st XI face a tricky trip to Market Harborough (11-30am). The Seconds host Whitchurch at Warwick University (12-30pm) while the third team entertain Loughborough Sharks 15-50 pm).
