IT WAS a superb end to the Midlands Cyclo-Cross League season for Solihull CC, at the final event at Wolverhampton on Sunday.
In the U10’s race Matt Shaw took 3rd place – but this secured him the overall win that he deserved for the season.
Just behind him Ben Breakwell, James Alexander, Harrison Knight, James Upton, and Oliver Gunn finished in 6th, 8th, 9th 10th and 11th places, with Jacob Knight 19th, Jack Rootkin-Gray (U8) 29th and Luke Chappelow 36th in his very first race.
In the U12 event Kelton Aldridge took his best placing (6th) of the season with Josh Gunn in 8th and they secured 9th and 11th places overall.
In the U14 and U16 youth race, first prize received a £100 cash prize, and the Barrie Elson Trophy. This was a brilliant double whammy for the club as Jack Ravenscroft was best U14 rider (and 5th on the day), and Joe Fox led the race from start to finish to take the trophy.
Elsewhere, Tom Hibberd finished in 15th place overall in the Seniors League, Andy Shaw finished in 17th place, Rebecca Keogh was an impressive 2nd overall in the Ladies League, and Jake Blakemore was 7th in the Juniors League.
