BLYTHE Barracudas Swimming Club were celebrating last weekend, after winning both the top overall female and top overall male in the Level 3 category at the Boldmere Open Meet held at Stechford Cascades.
It was smiles all round for Nicola Smith and Duncan McNutt as a superb two days of swimming earned them the top spots at the meet.
Nicola took home eight medals in all, five gold, one silver and two bronze whilst Duncan netted seven - one gold, five silvers and a bronze.
Blythe was represented by 37 swimmers at the meet who achieved a total of 50 medals between them.
In the junior section it was 10 year old Tom Jones who shone taking a hat trick of golds in the 200m freestyle, 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly.
Ten-year-old Alyssa Morrison achieved gold in the 50m freestyle whilst 9 year olds Emily Baker and Michael Greenhill took a bronze each in the 200m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke respectively.
Representing City of Birmingham at the meet, 10 year-old Blythe swimmer Charlotte Rigg had an outstanding weekend, receiving eight medals from her nine events and coming 2nd overall in the girls Level 2.
