A HIGH quality display of goal scoring from Hampton-in-Arden against their close neighbours.

Although the first ten minutes were fairly even, Hampton soon took the lead and never relinquished it.

Dafydd Bowles and Scott Powell ran riot at short corners in the first half with Bowles collecting a first half hat-trick of flicks and Powell picking up a brace as well. Rhys Doherty also got in on the act, dribbling into the circle and drilling the ball past a forlorn Coventry keeper.

Bowles picked up his second hat-trick and George Skalka also slotted in to take Hampton into double figures.

Elsewhere Hampton-in-Arden second team beat CC&U 6-2.

The club’s Ladies first team drew 1-1 with Tamworth Ladies in Midlands League division 2. A Sam Powell through-ball picked out striker Harriet Thompson who rounded a defender and squeeze the ball reverse-stick under the advancing keeper.

The Hampton goalkeeper Kat Divers was performing heroics in goal and it took a deflection to beat and draw the match.
