A TREBLE by in-form jockey Eddie Ahern was the highlight of last Thursday’s race meeting at Warwick.
Two of his winners were Henry Cecil-trained runners, Mingun Bell in a seven-furlong maiden and Doggerbank over mile, four furlongs.
In between those victories, Ahern captured the most valuable race of the day, the European Breeders’ Fund Fillies’ Handicap, worth £5,317 to the winner.
Australian jockey Michelle Payne scored her first win in this country with a stylish riding performance on joint top weight Iasia in a seven-furlong handicap.
She has won over 400 races back home and looked good for many more here, if she decides to stay in the UK.
Warwick has an extra fixture this summer - on August 26 - which will be followed by the Bank Holiday meeting on August 31.
