Solihull Swimming Club had two teams competing in this week’s first round of the Arena National League, with many swimmers recording new personal bests.

The A Team lost a number of key swimmers but performed admirably with younger swimmers participating in swims above their own age group.

There were 37 PBs recorded, with star of the show Helen Mockler involved in a total of eight races, achieving five PBs.

The B team also notched up 41 PBs and the juniors reached the finals of the Junior League.

Blythe Barracudas took part in a thrilling swimming gala hosted by Warley Wasps Swimming Club at Smethwick on Saturday evening.

Blythe finished a close second on the night to eventual winners, Perry Beeches, however it could have been even better if luck had been on their side.

There were numerous great performances on the night and the team managed fourteen first place finishes out of 41 events, with 12 personal best times.
