North Staffs 0 - Olton 7
Despite this game being hotly tipped to be a closely fought encounter Olton showed their superiority throughout - making their rivals look very average.
With his third hat-trick in three weeks, Ed James, along with Michael Johnson were both instrumental in the victory. Tom Pickersgill and Chris George also contributed to the goals.
Aston University 3 -
Yardley’s recent blip in form continued as they slumped to another defeat against Aston University and failed to score for the first game this season.
Yardley produced chances throughout the game but they just could not convert them, although the students did deserve their victory.
Coalville 4 - Berkswell & Balsall Common 2
Coalville took a two goal lead into half time and followed this up with a third early in the second.
This galvanised the resolve of Berkswell who immediately broke back using the pace of Martin Cross up the right wing to unlock a pass to brother Ben who duly converted the chance.
Within 10 minutes Berkswell brought themselves within one goal with Rob Fairfield converting a cross from Nick Herring. But with Coalville well and truly on the back foot, Berkswell couldn’t find a further breakthrough to gain some well deserved points from the game.
Old Silhillians 2 - Whitchurch 3
Shropshire boys Whitchurch took a two goal lead into half time but Old Sils got one back early in the second through Liam Cole.
Whitchurch restored their two goal advantage but again Old Sils fought back, this time Jamie Clapham setting up the evergreen Max Levenger to finish neatly into the bottom corner.
Two late chances could have seen Old Sils get something from the game but as it was the away side took maximum.
Olton 2 -
Birmingham Uni 2
From the whistle Olton were much the better team and with only four minutes gone they laid down a marker when Rachel Walker converted a short corner with a clean strike past the keeper’s feet.
Birmingham equalised on 10 minutes, but just three minutes later Olton struck again from another short corner when Emma Rochlin deflected in at the left-hand post. But the lead was not to last as a rejuvenated Birmingham drew level again five minutes after the restart.
Solihull Blossomfield 3 - Leighton Buzzard 2
Saturday saw a hard fought game with home side Blossomfield dominating from the start following a goal on her debut from Becky Shephard.
This was soon followed by a well worked short corner from which the rebound was swept up by Emily Davies into the back of the Leighton Buzzard goal.
Bloss made things safe following an excellent cross from Anna Wellings, which was turned in by Elana Byrne.
Berkswell & Balsall Common 1 - Long Buckby 3
