ALL round sportsman Cameron Pound is ending 2012 on high after being selected to represent England Under 14s at an ice hockey tournament in Budapest from December 27-30.
The Dorridge youngster a pupil at Solihull School, is also pretty useful at rugby and cricket as well as hockey and will also be in his country’s colours at another tournament in Prague from April 11-15, 2013.
Proud dad Ian said: “In addition to playing for England, Cameron plays club ice hockey at Coventry U14s and U16s levels, as well as representing the Midlands Ice Hockey team.
“With all his hard work, he has even had a couple of apprenticeship training sessions with the full Great Britain U18s ice hockey squad.”
Ian himself is no stranger to the hurly burly of ice hockey - originally from Canada, he has competed in the sport for the GB senior squad at the World Championships and coaches Cameron at club level.
He added: “Ice hockey has been overlooked for funding by Sport England again, but if anyone is interested in getting involved in sponsoring Cameron, or ice hockey in general, then please get in touch through the Coventry Blaze Junior Ice Hockey Academy.”
