DORIAN Benjamin led Solihull Basketball Academy to an 88-78 victory over Reading Rockets in the National Under-18 Cup in Sheffield.
The talented star top scored with 31 points and four rebounds. He was ably assisted by Sam Rudge (17 points, 7 rebounds) and AJ Wareham (15 points, 8 rebounds).
Coach Richard Parker said he was concerned coming into the game as Gerry Sanghera and Josh Asphall were both out with injuries.
However he was quick to praise Benjamin and the rest of the team for their determined effort.
“Dorian Benjamin was just superb,” he said.
“He had a ten-minute spell either side of the first two quarters were he was unstoppable.
“Reading then decided to run a triangle and two defence on him and Kofi Josephs but Sam Rudge, AJ Wareham, Kashe Evans and Dan Holmes stepped up.
“This enabled us to keep our momentum going.”
