THERE was a double celebration for Solihull Municipal's bowls ace Janet Tricklebank.

She teamed up with Bob Saunders to take the honours in the club's Pegler Mixed Pairs Trophy, beating Peter Bird and Pat Adams in the final.

And she was then involved in the mixed team that recorded a comfortable home

68-40 win against Warwick BC in a rain-interrupted match on Sunday.

The Municipal bowlers were victorious in three of the four rinks with the fourth tied.

227-205, using home advantage pay to secure their fifth win of the season.

Andy Boswell was best winner for the Hall Green team, running out 21-8 against Danny Jones, taking his record for this season to 10 wins out of 11.

The result, however, did little to move the side up the table and they remain ninth, three points off top spot.

Baldwin 'B' struggled at Weoley Castle, going down 177-154, with skipper Mark Hemming the pick of the bowlers as he defeated Gordon Jones 21-8.

There was some consolation in the narrow defeat in that the five winning bowlers helped the Baldwin BC receive five points in order to boost their league total to 47.
