A FRUSTRATED Knowle and Dorridge were held to a winning draw by Walsall at Station Road last weekend.
The game, hit by rain, saw the visitors post a respectable 278 all out with half-centuries for Christiaan Jonker (55) and David Powles (55).
With their response reduced to 31 overs, K & D cruised past a target of 157 for a winning draw and finished on 174 without loss with former Glamorgan skipper David Hemp, in his first game of the season, unbeaten on 101 and Warwickshire’s Richard Johnson undefeated on 69.
Captain Jamie Spires, said: “It was a decent winning draw, albeit extremely frustrating.
“There are some positives to take away. With a number of players absent it shows that we have a decent squad.
“We are back to full strength this week.”
Tomorrow (Saturday) K & D, third in the Birmingham Premier League, travel to Wolverhampton, who sit second from bottom.
Spires added: “We have got seven games to go with lots to play for.
“The league is not in our hands but we are still in with a chance.
“Wolverhampton seem to be one of those hit and miss sides. They’ve got Moeem Ali, who plays for Worcester, and he is capable of taking anyone apart.
“If he’s around it’s something to be wary of.
“It’s a game we should hope to be winning.”
