Knowle & Dorridge 164,
Barnt Green 167
THE squad system will swing into action for Knowle & Dorridge when a much changed team travel to deepest Herefordshire to take on Brockhampton on Saturday.
Although they’ll be missing five or six key players, skipper Jamie Spiers is upbeat about the selection decisions and praised his team after last week’s defeat to high flying Barnt Green.
“The little things didn’t go our way against Barnt Green, who, let’s face it, are a good side,” said Spiers. “We lost the toss which wasn’t great and were a couple of seamers down but even so there were a lot of positives to take away from the game.”
K&D are currently in sixth position in the Birmingham Premier Division, just 30pts off leaders Walsall with all to play for - however Brockhampton are a bit of a mystery.
“I played there once some time ago and all I can remember is that there was a big slope and they were cracking,” said Spiers.
The changes will include the introduction of minor counties player David Myers and the return of Dominic Harding and leg spinner Chris Davidson.
“We’ve had an average start to the season and hopefully on Saturday we can get back to winning ways,” said Spiers.
