ON Saturday Knowle Village welcomed bottom of the table Old Edwardians CC to Hampton Road.
On losing the toss Knowle were put in and made a promising start with Joe Jarema and Sean Dunne putting them on 77 and although they fell Knowle were on 109-2 at drinks.
Just as Knowle were thinking about pushing on, the introduction of Mohammed Arshad into the Old Eds attack began to peg Knowle back, leaving them struggling at 153-6.
An aggressive cameo from Andy Richmond (23*) helped Knowle reach 184-8 off their 50 overs, a score which seemed below par thanks to the efforts of Old Eds’ Mohammed Arshad (3-43) and Rashid Mohammed (2-15).
Some tight bowling restricted Eds to 98-3 at drinks and two quick wickets soon reduced them to 99-5.
Old Eds knew they were up against it, however the arrival of Knowle old boy Neil Budhia to the crease with three overs remaining pulled the match around for them with a couple of swift boundaries as Eds reached the target with 10 balls to spare.
Next weekend Knowle Village travel to newly promoted Ambleside CC.
