THE Wallace family of Knowle are celebrating after young Ethan Wallace was selected to represent Team GB in the forthcoming 2012 UCI BMX world championships in Birmingham.

The 11-year-old, a pupil at Knowle Primary School who rides for the ID Racing BMX Team, just missed out at the UK trials but saw his younger sister Mia, aged nine, make the grade.

But now the youngster, who crashed out in the national championships in Manchester, has been handed a wild card entry by British Cycling.

Dad Ian, who helps run Redditch Premiers BMX Club and is himself a top rider, said he was absolutely delighted by the decision.

The world championships are at the National Indoor Arena Birmingham from May 24-27 2012.
