Lapworth's uphill task after Stockton defeat

OFFCHURCH Lapworth need to beat Wishaw tomorrow in Division One of the Boundary Sports Warwickshire League if they are to have any chance of catching second-placed side Pickwick.

OFFCHURCH Lapworth need to beat Wishaw tomorrow in Division One of the Boundary Sports Warwickshire League if they are to have any chance of catching second-placed side Pickwick.

Currently they trail their high-flying rivals by 21 points after slipping to defeat at Stockton last week.

Ajay Pattiwallah guided the hosts to success taking 5-17 as Lapworth were dismissed for 113.

The impressive all-rounded had previously smashed 59 to top score for his side as they were bowled out for 225.

Marston Green are also desperate for a win as they strive to remain in Division Two.

They will need to be on top of their game though if they are to get anything out of tomorrow's home tie with Walsall YMF, currently sitting second in the table.

A defeat will relegate them after a narrow one-wicket loss at Coventry Sphinx left them rooted to the foot of the table last week.

The North Solihull side hit 280-7 with Mo Khan hitting 71.

Coventry Sphinx replied with 285-9 to shock Marston Green and leave them desperately needing two further wins to have any chance of staying up.

Knowle Village narrowly missed out on promotion to Division Three despite beating Weoley Hill by 26 runs.

Facing Village next season will be Solihull Municipal who sealed promotion from Division Five despite losing by three wickets to Stockingford.

Newbold comfortably won the league but Municipal were content with their runners-up place.

Knowle & Dorridge and Castle Bromwich both also missed out on promotion in Division Three at the end of a thrilling campaign.
