SOLIHULL’S masterful ‘Muni Men’ won all four rinks against West Midlands Police BC, to reach the semi-finals of the prestigious Walker Trophy bowls competition.

SMBC’s winning rinks were: singles, Chris Holmes; pairs, Keith Miller and Francis Fletcher; triples, Nigel Walker, Dave Greaves, and Malcolm Evans; fours, James Pearson, Brian Trindle, Bryan Jones, and Tony Burdett.

However, the men failed to maintain winning form, and went down to Brick Kiln BC in the BBA League, taking no points.

The club is holding an Open Day between 11am and 1pm on Sunday (July 19). Prospective bowlers (including newcomers) are invited to visit the Solihull Municipal Club, Brick Kiln Lane.

If you are interested you will need to bring trainers, but all other equipment and necessary tuition will be available.
