Matt pedals a course record

BALSALL Common’s 24-year-old cyclist Matt Clinton had an excellent week - breaking a course record and finishing in the top ten of the National Championship.

BALSALL Common’s 24-year-old cyclist Matt Clinton had an excellent week - breaking a course record and finishing in the top ten of the National Championship.

Competing in the Midland C&AC 10mile Club Time-Trial on Tuesday, at Temple Balsall, the Mike Vaughan Cycles rider won by three minutes in wet and windy conditions to give a time of 22-12.

On Thursday he rode the Coventry Road Club event on the Stoneleigh Circuit, clocking the fastest time of the night with 13-34, beating the previous course record by five seconds.

Then on Sunday, Clinton took part in the National Time-Trial Championships, near Bicester, impressively finishing in the top ten.
