SOLIHULL riders were out in force at the popular West Midlands Cyclo Cross League which kicked off the season at Pitcher Oak Woods in Redditch.
There was an especially strong Solihull contingent competing in the youth section where Alex Mitchell provided the highlight when winning the Under-14 race, placing sixth overall in the combined Under-14’s and 16’s.
Danny Fox led Solihull home in the Under 16 race when he finished second, chased home by Jack Ravenscroft who was third with Ethan Lee close behind in fifth spot.
Matt Shaw snapped up an excellent second placing in the Under-12 race, which was extremely encouraging as this was his first race at this level, while Harrison Knight and Alex Yates both finished in the top 10.
There was also a pleasing third place finish from seven year old Jack Rootkin-Gray in the Under-10 race.
Andy Shaw proved pick of Solihull’s senior riders when finishing 13th out of 58 while Rebecca Keough was third in the Junior Females.
