MOSELEY skipper Abdul Hafeez admitted his side are desperate for a positive result after crashing to this seven wicket defeat, despite Hafeez hitting 103 not out.

The result leaves Moseley just three points clear of the relegation zone in the Birmingham Premier League.

Hafeez said: “We probably could have done with a few more runs. We didn’t bowl well and didn’t put them under pressure at all.

“Maybe we could have got to 250.”

Tomorrow (Saturday) Moseley host mid-table Shrewsbury from noon.

Hafeez said: “Shrewsbury had a decent start to the season. We are as hopeful as ever and try to be as positive as ever. The gap between us and Wolverhampton is drawing closer.

“We are desperate for a positive result.

“We’ve got to do what we can in the coming weeks to put it right.

“We’ve got a decent side that can get us out of it and we can put a couple of positive results together.”
