Smethwick 171 all out, Moseley 242 all out Moseley win by 71 runs
A COMFORTABLE win for Moseley saw the Solihull side claim the full 24 points to lift them out of the relegation zone in the Birmingham Premier League.
Aadam Din (122 not out) scored his second century of the season and Huw Jones hit 40 as Moseley compiled 242 with Aurrol Kirnon taking 4 for 55 for Smethwick.
Faisal Shahid top scored with 43 in the Smethwick reply but Usman Awan stepped in with 5 for 46 to clinch the game for Moseley.
Captain Abdul Hafeez said: “We got maximum points and we really needed that. The guys did really well. Aadam Din got his second hundred against Smethwick this season. We bowled very well and they didn’t really threaten us at any stage, it was a comfortable win.”
Moseley sit third from bottom and tomorrow (Saturday) host Leamington Spa at 12pm.
“Hopefully we can have a bit of a winning run. The side is going to be pretty much the same for Saturday.
“Laurie Evans is playing for Warwickshire until Thursday and hopefully he can play for us and strengthen the batting.
“We had a close game against Leamington last time and the game went to the last ball and unfortunately we lost.”
