THE Old Silhillians began their summer hockey campaign at home to Nuneaton this week - with a resounding 9-1 victory.
The game started badly for Sils with Nuneaton taking an early lead, but the home side soon settled into an attacking rhythm and equalised through man of the match Mike Brazier.
Max Levengers scored a brace before Brazier grabbed his second just before half time to give Sils a comfortable lead at the break.
On a hot evening, Sils’ superior fitness proved to be dominant, as Mike Thorpe got on to the scoresheet soon into the second half.
The goals kept coming with Matt Rivers scoring an excellent individual effort, Brazier getting his hat-trick and a fourth in quick succession on his debut.
