Olton back to league action

OLTON & WW return to league action tomorrow when they take on relegation-threatened West Bridgford.

OLTON & WW return to league action tomorrow when they take on relegation-threatened West Bridgford.

Last season Olton slumped to a 9-1 defeat against the Nottingham-based side and were also beaten 3-0 at home earlier on in the season.

But since coach Harry Jawanda has arrived at Grange Road, there has been an upturn in fortunes and his side remain unbeaten in their last three games.

Last weekend the Midlands Premier League outfit beat a Belper second string side 3-2. Nick Jones was among the scorers for the hosts.

Elsewhere the ladies first team are still preparing for the National Indoor Hockey Championships to be held at the NIA.

If they beat Slough in the semi-finals they will meet the winners of Canterbury and Bowdon in the final. Should they win the overall competition they will move on to play the winners from other leagues across Europe.
