OLTON & West Warwicks were held to a draw at home against Coventry side Highway on Saturday. Having won the toss and decided to bat, Olton enjoyed a solid start, with openers Paul Fitzgerald and Liam Gately posting a 51-run partnership.

Mohammed Ishtiaq scored a quick 50 from 56 balls, while Darren Kok added 28 from 31 balls. Overseas player Zaid Joseph steadied the innings with an unbeaten 91 from 108 balls, before going on to take 3 for 33 in 11 overs in Highway’s reply.

The visitors got off to a good start but were unable to mount an assault on Olton’s total of 261.

Highway CC closed on 176 for 4.
