OLTON and West Warwickshire Cricket Club honoured stalwart Phil Budd after he completed his 50th season with the club.
Phil joined as a teenager in 1958 and has been with the club ever since. He has captained second and third XIs. He was treasurer for way over 20 years, and then Chairman of Selectors for 15 years.
Two years ago he earned his coaching badges and now, aged 65, helps coach Olton's young players.
Babar Khan was named first XI player of the season for his 62 league wickets, with Jamie Hawkins named young player of the season and Pete Suthons as Clubman of the year for his sterling captaincy of an extremely youthful fourth XI who ran away with their league.
