THE pressure was on in the Investec Ladies Premier League match with Olton desperate for points.

They started well with Emma McCabe deservedly put Olton ahead 10 minutes into the game.

A well struck corner by Clifton brought the scores level but Olton continued to dominate, finding success through the middle. Amie Hone, who has really progressed since joining the club scored a great goal to reclaim the lead in the 25th minute.

However the whole game changed five minutes later when the visitors scored two soft goals to put them 3-2 up at halftime.

Despite a lot of pressure Olton couldn’t get the goals required and the second half remained goalless. More importantly three points that were there for the taking had slipped away.

On Saturday Olton are home to Bowden 12noon at Grange Road with still five games before the fat lady sings.

l Meanwhile in the EHL Northern Conference Olton’s men drew 1-1 away at Belper.

Olton started brightly and took the lead through Sam Mee in the opening minutes. However the home side levelled half way through the first half through a penalty. Olton started the second half the better of the two teams and had a number of good chances to take the lead again but struggled to convert them. The away side dominated the second half and Belper were limited to only one chance which they failed to take.
