League leaders Berkswell suffered a rare defeat on Saturday, in Birmingham Division One, as they were beaten away at Wombourne by 68 runs.
The home side were all out for 177 in the 43rd over, Babar Khan, finishing with 3 for 16 from 10 overs the pick of the bowlers.
However, Berkswell – missing some key players – lost early wickets and despite some resistance from Chris Cheslin (24), were all out for 109 in just the 35th over.
Skipper, Dominic Ostler, said: “Having bowled out the opposition for less than 180, we really should have batted better. However, Wombourne are a very good side, who played the better cricket on the day and deserved their victory.”
On Saturday Berkswell entertain mid-table Walmley.
