The Old Sils travelled to top of the league Redditch on Saturday in what promised to be an extremely tough match.
The Sils started brightly thanks to man of the match Nick Greaves whose tackling and distribution allowed the Sils to dominate with the Redditch keeper being called upon to deny both Nick Oppenheimer and Keith Leeson.
Sils did take the lead however midway through the first half thanks to a Jamie Clapham strike off a short corner.
Reditch then began to come back into the game and won a series of short corners themselves but the Sils defence stood firm and went in at half time 1-0 up.
In the second half, Redditch came out fired up, but Sils stuck at it with captain Matt Fell leading by example and Max Levenger leading the Sils attacking line but when a dodgy short corner was given to Redditch they managed to level the score at 1-1.
Just as the game was looking to be heading for a draw, Sils were dealt a sucker punch as Redditch scored from yet another dodgy short corner.
The Sils host Market Drayton next Saturday at the Old Sils with a 2pm start.
