FORMER middle-weight boxing champion, Richie Woodhall, paid a visit to a Shirley school recently, giving pupils a motivational talk.
The ex-boxer, 41, who was born in Telford, was invited to Light Hall School for a second year in a row.
“He does an excellent motivational and inspirational talk about his career, and why he became a success,” said Sue Watson, Specialist College Manager.
“Richie talked to our Year 10 pupils about having a goal, and working hard to achieve it. He passed around his Olympic medals and then answered many questions from the students and signed over 100 autographs!”
Richie captured the WBC super middleweight belt in 1998 during a 10 year professional career, before retiring in 2000 following injury, and a loss to Joe Calzaghe.
