“I thought there was a problem with the car through the second half of the last stage; we went off on a tight-ish right-hand bend as the rear of the car end broke loose! I thought we had a puncture, and Dom thought we were going to hit a tree! We managed to scrabble out of the undergrowth and continue through the stage, and it turns out we set a very quick time after-all!”
“I’m delighted with the result, I couldn’t have imagined finishing as close to the top 20 as we have, and a brilliant 4th in Group N too! – I can’t wait for the Malcolm Wilson Rally now!”
Scott and the team would like to thank their sponsors, CAB Automotive, the Professional Motorsport World Expo, C1-R Motorsport Services and Arneside Motorsport for their continued support through 2013. We look forward to seeing you out on round 2 of the championship, the Malcolm Wilson Rally in March.
New Car - very fast, thoroughbred, specifically built for rallying; Mitsubishi Evo 9
New Co-Driver - Dom Adams, from Rhonda in Wales
New Sponsors - CAB Automotive, Midlands based automotive suppliers, Professional Motorsport World Expo and C1-R Motorsport based in Stourbridge.
Season Aims - Not high; to learn the new car, new co-driver, learn how to drive on gravel again (haven’t competed on gravel since 2008!) and gain as much experience as possible. Would like a top 10 over-all rally finish and a top 3 class finish by the end of the season.

Scott Faulkner – Round #1 – Wyedean Rally - 9/2/13
Based in the beautiful surroundings of the Forest of Dean, the Wyedean Rally kicked off the 2013 BTRDA Rally Championship last weekend as 180 crews descended on Chepstow Racecourse for the inaugural season opener.
23 years old
Lives Near Olton, Solihull
Went to Oak Cottage Primary School, Langley Secondary School and then went straight into a modern Apprenticeship at Jaguar Land Rover as soon as I left school in 2005.
Still working at Jaguar Land Rover in programme management for the Evoque model, based in Gaydon - Warwickshire.
Followed in the footsteps of my father John who competed in rallying back in the 80’s
I started rallying as soon as I had my driving license in 2007 in my first rally car, a Peugeot 205. Since then I have been rallying a Renault Clio only on tarmac events in the UK and also one event in Belgium back in 2010.
For this season we have upgraded to the Mitsubishi Evo 9 gravel spec rally car for the 2013 BTRDA Gravel Rally Championship - 2 new entities for me with a new car, and a new surface to drive on. It’s going to be a steep learning curve. Thrown into the mix is a new co-driver for 2013, Dom Adams from Wales.
Everything else I’m sure you can dissect from the press release from the first event last weekend.
