JAKE Sorrell won the final two kilometres race of the series at Babbs Mill. The Centurion Running Club star finished in a time of 6mins 34secs ahead of Ellis Cross.

First woman to finish was Jessica Bailey in 7mins 1sec, with Hannah Cox crossing second. The result confirmed Sorrell as the overall two kilometres champion from Ben Prosser-Daws and Stuart Joy of Centurion.

The women’s competition was won by Cox, of Harriet Roberts, and Centurion Jessica O’Keeffe. Richard White finished third in the five-mile race on 27mins 53secs with Theresa Woolley ending as second lady.

Ian Mansell, last year’s champion was absent from the race safe in the knowledge that he had an unassailable lead in this year’s series and therefore retained his title from Nathan Holmes and Centurion’s White.
