THE runs dried up at the wrong moment for Moseley who finished with just 7pts from their draw against Old Hill last week.

And the Streetsbrook Road side, currently third in the Birmingham first division, will be aiming to get back to winning ways when they take on Smethwick on Saturday.

“Smethwick away, you’re never quite sure what sort of side they’ll put out but they’re sure to pull a few surprises,” said Moseley skipper Abdul Hafeez.

Hafeez himself top scored with a 56 against Old Hill but blamed himself for ‘getting out at the wrong moment’ for their failure to pass their 207 target.

“Tom Watts bowled fantastically well to restrict them and things were progressing nicely but then we lost a few key wickets towards the end.

“I got out at the wrong time, with five over remaining, just when we were looking to push it along.”
