KNOWLE & Dorridge’s title hopes are fading as the team face a 53 point chase to catch league leaders Barnt Green.

KNOWLE & Dorridge’s title hopes are fading as the team face a 53 point chase to catch league leaders Barnt Green.

On Monday, against Smethwick Mohammed Yousaf displayed his class with 61 but Ben Coley took 5 for 29 to rip through the rest of Smethwick’s flimsy line-up.

David Hemp with an unbeaten 52, and 42 from Justin Hemming, ensured a confident win for 2009 Premier League champions K & D.

On Saturday, a determined innings from Barnt Green skipper Dougie Brown saw K & D claw out a losing draw.

Hemp (71), Luke Parker (58) and Attiq Chishti (50) saw K & D to 246 for eight in 50 overs with Nick Powell taking 3 for 29.

However Brown’s unbeaten 82 clinched the winning draw.

K & D are now fifth from top in the Birmingham Premier League.

Tomorrow (Saturday) they travel to Shrewsbury for a noon start and next week they face West Bromwich Dartmouth. Their final match of the season is home to Himley.
