DORRIDGE consolidated their mid-table position in Birmingham League Division One with a couple of cracking victories over Brockhampton and Shifnal.
The victory at Brockhampton was extremely impressive as the Herefordshire side had been pushing for promotion.
But they had few answers to Dorridge’s bowling attack who reduced them to 111 for eight at one stage before wicket-keeper Chris Powell and skipper Owen Price staged a recovery.
The pair added 79 runs before Price was finally bowled by Hafeez who finished with four for 42. By that stage Brockhampton’s had 190 for nine, on the board.
In reply, Jonathan Webb struck a sparkling 61, taking the total to 122 for three.
A revitalised Richard Parker hit back for Brockhampton by taking four for 35 before Abdul Hafeez regained the initiative with 35 not out, steering Dorridge home on 194 for seven.
On Monday, Dorridge secured a four wicket win over Shifnal - enabling them to swap places in the league table as Dorridge climb above the Shropshire side to go seventh.
Shifnal were restricted to 164 all out. Dorridge raced to 165 for five in reply thanks to Kaiser Shah scoring 56 while the in-form Hafeez added 54 not out. Dorridge host promotion chasing West Bromwich Dartmouth on Saturday at Grange Road.
