WITH eager second XI players pressganged into service, a much-changed Sils XI started the match strongly.

Some smart stick skills earned them a string of penalty corners with Becky Leaning breaking the deadlock when she smashed home a rebounding shot.

Sils quickly returned to the Ludlow D after the restart and first team debutant Issie Thomas won the penalty corner that led to Sils doubling their lead through Lou Hirons.

The second half saw Ludlow adopt an all-out defensive strategy. On the rare occasion the Sils broke through the defensive lines the Ludlow keeper was unbeatable.

Sils are now third in the table and play Badsey at home on Saturday with a charity cake sale afterwards. All welcome.
