Ombersley 156 for 1

MOSELEY will be looking for a better performance against Coventry NW after suffering a miserable day in the field against Ombersley at home last weekend.

However despite missing key players skipper Abdul Hafeez refused to make excuses for his team’s performance.

“At the start of every season you look ahead and you know that somewhere along the line you’re going to have a bad day and hopefully for us that was it,” he said.

Moseley, playing at their Streetsbrook Road HQ, posted an under par but still defendable 151, Hugh Jones top scoring with 56 while Jason Robinson wagged the tail with an impressive 30.

They even got a first over wicket but from there on they had to stand and watch as Ombersley compiled 156 for one.

“They played positively and we simply did not bowl well enough to put them under any pressure,” said Hafeez.

On Saturday, still missing key players, he’ll be looking for his team to seize their opportunity to press home for the win.
