The Bristol Street Motors Solihull Barons continued their winning ways on Sunday evening with a convincing victory in a double points game over the Hull Jets.

The first period was all Barons with the Solihull team outshooting the Jets 30 to 13. The Barons closed out the period 8-0, including a pair of goals for Niklas Ottosson.

The second period had the Barons easing off a little as Hull gradually started to work their way into the game. The Jets opened their account in the 26th minute, Matt Jeffcock finding the net.

A couple of minutes later Tom Soar picked up the rebound from a Phil Knight long range effort for the Barons’ ninth goal.

A penalty by Knight led to the Jets’ second goal, Jeffcock again finding a way past Josh Nicholls, though this too would be cancelled by Joe Henry to ensure the Barons retained the eight-goal advantage.

The final 20 had the Barons back on the offensive and scoring at will, notching a further ten goals without loss. The highlight of this spell being Tom Soar placing the puck in the Hull net twice in the space of only seven seconds, the second a peach of a shot into the top right of the Jets goal.

On Saturday the Barons make the trip to Ice Sheffield to take on second place Senators, a side always strong on home ice. On Sunday the Barons have their last home game for nearly a month when they take on the Nottingham Lions.
