THREE gymnasts from Solihull ended 2011 on a high.

The trio of rhythmic gymnasts, who train at the Elena Rhythmic Gymnastics Centre, played a major part in helping their club to win the British Club team championships.

This prestigious national competition was held in Walsall last year and was well attended.

All three gymnasts had a fantastic year and followed up their club success with top ten finishes at the British Individual Apparatus Championships in Bradford in November.

Abigail Stokes, a pupil at Light Hall, Sasha Richards, a pupil at King Edwards, and Isabella Nicholson, a pupil at St Martin’s, train up to five times a week at their gymnastics club in Wellington Street, Oldbury.

The centre is open seven days a week and provides sporting activities for children as young as three.

More information on rhythmic gymnastics can be found on the club website at or by contacting head coach Sarah Smith on 07525-900180.
