SOLIHULL School has been hitting the competition for six in its maiden appearance in a senior girls’ cricket tournament.
With the help of its new full-time cricket coach, former Glamorgan captain and Warwickshire player David Hemp, the school has reached the county finals of the Under-15 Lady Taverners indoor event at its first attempt.
The team has booked its place in the climax to the contest at Edgbaston County Ground on Monday, March 30 after beating Ninestiles School.
Solihull School restricted Ninestiles to a score of 54 runs for the loss of 8 wickets after notching up a staggering 100 for one.
Tina Gough, who has toured South Africa with Warwickshire Under-19s, is the captain of the team, which also includes county player Anna McNeillie.
