Walmley 240, Moseley 112
BATTLING Moseley clung on for a losing draw after being pummelled by Walmley’s Freddie Colman who hit 15 sixes on his way to posting 176 in a match limited to 25 overs.
The Streetsbrook Road side’s skipper Abdul Hafeez ruefully noted that Walmley’s total of 240 was more akin to what would be expected from a 50 over match.
“It was one of those days,” said Hafeez, “there was a very short boundary on one side and there were times when we did not bowl as well as we should have, but hat’s off to him, he played very well.”
Moseley’s problems were compounded when opener Hafeez was out second ball for a duck but his team clung on to secure the draw ending on 112 for nine.
This week they taken on Dorridge in what is sure to be a hotly contested local derby.
