A SUPERB solo ride by Solihull Cycling Club’s Alex Mitchell secured victory for the youngster in the Under 14s youth race at Shrewsbury last weekend.
In a pre-determined move, Mitchell broke from the gun while team mates Harvey Wadsworth, Lucy Shaw and Natalie Clements covered all possible attacks to give him the win.
However a mix up on the final lap with the judging unfortunately denied Lucy and Harvey second and third in the race.
The Under 12 squad of James Alexander, William Mitchell, Matt Shaw and Jake Stewart also rode strongly to all finish in the top 10, with Stewart claiming third.
Further afield, Under 12 rider, Dan Bradbury travelled to Sunderland for the National Youth Series, where he finished 11.
Meanwhile time trialling duo Colin Williamson and Dave Homer travelled with their tandem to Jodrell Bank and came away with first place in the event with a time of 58.05 for the 25 miles.
