The Renault Solihull Barons had another successful weekend after beating Sutton Sting at Sheffield.

The Renault Solihull Barons had another successful weekend after beating Sutton Sting at Sheffield.

Solihull dominated the first period, going into the lead when Richard Slater scored within two minutes and Andy Ayes scoring a power play goal three minutes later. Jamie McKinnon grabbed the third of the first period.

Some good net minding by Sutton kept the Barons out for much of the second period, until two minutes before the end when Erik Bakalar scored with a good strike.

Rob Perks scored the fifth and final goal in the 55th minute to give the Barons a comfortable 5-0 victory.

* The Barons play their first match of the season on Sunday following the re-opening of Solihull Ice Rink.
