A LARGE contingent of Solihull Swimming Club members attended winter training sessions with top coaches at Coventry’s 50-metre pool.
The benefit of this training was soon tested in the Worcester League first round gala at Halesowen, where Solihull achieved a credible fourth place against strong teams from Worcester and Redditch. Overall on the night Solihull swimmers achieved 56 personal bests.
This is the first time Solihull has entered the Worcester League and Head Coach Kate Hill said it was ‘a great effort’, and that ‘the team spirit on the night was excellent’. With winter training going well the club should be even stronger in the next round.
Solihull swimmers Lauren Turner, Lucy Glover, Lucy Gerard, Emily Collaran, Sarah Warwood, Sophie Stables and Chris Mitchell achieved personal bests and picked up medals at the Coventry Level 3 Meet.
